One of the very few television programmes I make a point of watching (no pun intended) is Pointless. It is a very simple format but I really enjoy it. Recently we had the opportunity to go and see it being recorded. It turned out to be a 'celebrity' edition - which initially caused my heart to plummet through the floor as I often never recognize 'celebrities'. As luck would have it, it was a 'Strictly' celebrity edition and as I had watched the last series I actually knew who most of them were!
We were fortunate enough to see:
Katya Jones and Joe McFadden
Giovanni Pernice and (the lovely) Debbie McGee
Oti Mabuse and Ore Oduba
A J Pritchard and Lesley Joseph
The warm-up guy took us through what was expected. We practised making appropriate noises as the tower descended; we were advised that as it was a celebrity edition there was likely to be a lot of wrong answers so we had to practise the appropriate response to an incorrect answer!
All in all it was a lot of fun. There was a lot of queuing involved and it was a bitterly cold day so I was glad we were well wrapped up. The studio was also pretty cold and the chairs not that comfortable. That said, I did enjoy it and I was glad I went.
We weren't supposed to take photographs but we managed one ;-)
