Kona

So after a fabulous week in Boston, Mark and I set off for our holiday.  The week in Boston was something of a bonus for me as Mark was at Harvard doing something executive-y and terribly important(!) while I was out and about enjoying myself.  We had two weeks in Hawaii planned followed by a couple of days in San Francisco to break the journey back to Denmark.

Week one was spent on The Big Island, in the resort of Kona.  We rented a small cottage with a fabulous view.

The small caterpillar like objects in the background are canoes taking part in the annual Queen Lili'uokalani Canoe race.

The neighbours were pretty friendly too, calling round for a visit and kindly leaving an egg or two :-).

The scenery was lovely,

and the beaches were spectacular.

Along with the sunsets.
