Yes, dear reader, I have lust in my heart. I love living in our country house here in chilly Tistrup but the big problem with it is it has next to no closet space. We knew this would be a challenge and we have worked out a number of compromise solutions but I have developed a fascination with other people's storage facilities. Cupboard love, perhaps? Anyway, friends of ours have announced that they will be leaving Esbjerg which is very sad as they are a great couple and we spend a fair amount of time with them. On the bright side, they are moving to Madrid so a great place to visit them. This is one of the joys of expat life unfortunately. You just find yourselves getting to know people and either you or they move on. Naturally, this system works quite well if you find someone irritating but it's not so good with people you actually like. I do sometimes feel my life is like one of those fast date scenarios one reads about. Not that I have ever been on one but I gather you spend about 10 minutes talking to one another and then move on to the next person. I now try to think about as though I am not losing a friend but gaining a holiday destination.
Anyway, back to my covetous nature. The aforementioned friends have a nice house in town. It's on three levels, quite spacious, good sized garden, a square toilet - probably a subject for a separate blog - and, wait for it, built in wardrobes!! Be still my beating heart. So I am now toying with the idea of seeing if their house would available after they leave. It does have lots of advantages, but it doesn't have this:
And Ollie loves it here<g>
Might have to make another trip to Ikea instead.

The only thing that glorious landscape lacks is a row of Ikea wardrobes!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt would also give Ollie something new to wee on!
I'll have you know my dog is very selective about the items on which he chooses to sprinkle tinkle ;-)
