The weather is getting better and as we are living in a place that we actually enjoy we thought we would check out some the rest of Denmark. We have been given a book of boutique style hotels by a friend and some of the places look fabulous. We decided to check out this one - Shackenborg Slotskro.
Shackenborg Slotskro is in the small village of Møgeltønder. It is right next door to Schackenborg Palace home of Queen Magarethe's younger son, Prince Joachim. The prince is a partner in the hotel.
Despite a small hiccup with the room booking (Mark and I ended up spending a night in a very small bed - it is referred to as a one and half size here, I call it bl**dy uncomfortable!) we had a lovely weekend. The food was amazing and the room for the second night was beautiful.
Møgeltønder is a delightful village. Cobbled streets, quaint houses all add to its old world charm.
We went over to Rømø to check out the beaches and found a whole bunch of folks flying their kites.
Naturally Ollie came too.
