Mark and I are due to collect our Cavalier King Charles spaniel, Ollie, from the breeder on Saturday. We have been 'puppy proofing' our house; we have rather a large hallway at the front of the house that we have literally boxed off and covered half the floor with newspaper. Received wisdom informs us that newspaper is an essential part of the house-training process. We have purchased essentials such as food, a crate, toys, bowls and a sundry other items that it is fair to say I did not know even existed.
Mark and I are both excited and terrified. Excited that we are welcoming a new member to the Wallace household and terrified as neither of us has ever owned a dog before and after 1 p.m. on Saturday we have no idea what happens! So, here goes ......

Now we've had the "before" photos, I look forward to seeing the "after" photos. After Ollie has turned this into his playground and totally wrecked it!!
