The first visitor to stay at our house in 2011 was our friend's dog, Seb. Seb is an 18 month old black labrador who is absolutely gorgeous. One is tempted to make analogies to canine spherical reproductive organs but as Seb has been 'done' I suspect this may be a little tasteless. Anyway, Sebbie has now been to stay twice and Mark and I have thoroughly enjoyed having him around.
I have decided that having a dog in the house is rather like having another engineer around. They are both usually house-trained, good company, lots of fun and incredibly easy to tease. My favourite mode of 'torment' for Seb was to encourage him to sit on our floors. Our floors are mostly marble and poor Seb could not get a decent grip so it was only a question of time before his front paws went one way and his tail the other. Made me laugh every time (note to self to get out more!)

Seb looking totally unimpressed with the whole photo taking process.
Not sure who is taking whom for a walk here
Apparently the dog needs a rest ;-)
Happy dog!
Aren't dogs fab?! Even borrowed dogs! I enjoyed my Christmas stint "letting the dogs out" in the morning so much, that I'm still doing it. Before breakfast some days, I go down to the stables with a pocket full of dog bics and wake Athos up so that he can retrieve a stick for 10 minutes while Kevin's in the shower!!!
ReplyDeleteThere is something unutterably cute about a teenage labrador - all bounce and wag.
So when are you going to stop borrowing and get a canine of your own?
P.S. The security code word thing that came up for my previous comment was "pootop".
ReplyDeleteI hope the computer isn't having a 'nomen est omen' moment!
