Quiet day today

Currently staying at my dad's and been rushing around getting all the usual bits and pieces sorted.  I am expecting a parcel to be delivered today so I am spending the day at home and just doing 'stuff'.  I have also just discovered dad's TV is showing the tennis in Beijing so that sounds like a bit of a result!

It's a nice day here today.  Blue skies, sun shining, a bit of an Indian summer according to Radio Five Live which should guarantee a massive downpour the minute I put the washing on the line.

I went to see my friend Toni yesterday.  She lives in Essex so I had the joy and privilege of a massive schlep around the M25.  Why do vehicles always break down in the most inconvenient locations?   I saw two broken down lorries - actually one was in flames but I reckon that counts as broken down - and they managed to bring both sides of the M25 to a grinding halt!  Still, it was worth it to see Toni and her two year old son Harry.  I was treated to my usual lasagne and salad for lunch and we had a good chat.  'Right nice', as my friend Sue says <g>.
