Germany does not do mug-trees either!

However, all is not lost.  M+S deliver to Denmark - woohoo!

We went to Flensburg/borg yesterday.  It's not too far - well, relatively anyway.  There are a number of outlets where you can buy alcohol for export at duty free prices so that was good.  We stocked up the car - fortunately it has a large boot but I swear we were driving uphill all the way home! <g>

It was interesting that at least 50% of the cars in the carparks had Danish numberplates and at one Supermarket (called Wolfgang and Sonia - I kid you not) in  Scandinavien Park it was more like 100%.

Citti Park was pretty good.  It had an extensive collection of wine and beer as well as sundry other items, including mussels!  Be still my beating heart!!  Last night's dinner was a plate of mussels and some rather nice wine.  I'm so liking living in Esbjerg :-))

  1. Funny - in these here parts people hop across the border to Spain for cheap shopping.
The fact that VAT in France is 19.6% as opposed to just 5.5% in Spain may have a little to do with it. Don't you just love EU integration?

P.S. I've just been reading about a European embargo on mug trees, so you'll have no luck with M&S!!!

  2. I think I have solved the mug tree famine. A friend is coming to stay and foolishly asked if we needed anything from the UK ......... ;-)
